Nitrate removal
Tap water can contain up to 50 mg/l of nitrate according to the Water Supply (Water Quality) regulations 2000. It might be harmless to humans, but not ideal for fish - especially if it becomes concentrated by evaporation from your aquarium. Nitrate in your make-up water can be effectively removed by ion exchange (i.e. resin) or by reverse osmosis process. We have some very cheap solutions available
Pure make up water
Using pure water with low total dissolved solids helps to prevent the build up of salinity through evaporation. Reverse osmosis is the ideal process to do this. We have a range of small and large reverse osmosis systems to suit a range of budgets
